So, I'm moving back to Torrance this Sunday. Don't know how long I'm gonna be staying down there, but probably at least for several months. I need to save money I would be spending on rent so that I can pay my other bills and still have time to pursue other, longer term endeavors. Zack put in the good word for me at his dispatching job at DSS, a shuttle service at LAX. I had a phone interview with the supervisor there yesterday, and she called me about an hour and a half ago telling me I got the job! Hell yeah! So I'll probably work that job a few days a week, and also do TV/movie extra work when I'm not working on music. I also want to find an internship at a studio of some sort, and learn all about sound engineering.
So, that's that. I'm gonna really miss Santa Cruz, and especially my friends up in this area. But I'll sure as hell be visiting as much as I possibly can, and who knows, maybe i'll be back in Northern California in 6 months or so. Just kind of depends on where life takes me... |

So, I converted my old desktop computer into a home studio, complete with Pro Tools, Reason, and Sound Forge. I also bought a high quality condenser mic and stand, and it sounds REALLY nice and clean. I also got a MIDI interface so I can hook my keyboard up to my computer and program MIDI in Reason.
A lot of this stuff is completely new to me, and I'm really glad I'm finally getting into it. It's opening a lot of doors in terms of making quality recordings. Right now I'm recording a dancey party track called "Distortion," that I orginally wrote about a year and a half ago, and have been screwing around with and changing up ever since.
Anyway, I'm super excited about the possibilities with my new set up. |

Tonight's the big show! I played with Zeke (drums) and Dro (bass) last night, and it sounded real good. Here are the band members for tonight:

Earlier today when I was studying for my senior comp exam in my room (which I'm taking in about an hour). I heard someone playing some awesome-sounding fiddle and singing. So I spent about 15 minutes trying to find which apartment it was coming from. I finally found the apartment, and knocked on the door. It's a guy named Luke. We hung out for 10 or 15 minutes and talked music. I asked him if he'd be down to play a song or two for the show tonight, and he said sure. I am stoked! |

Hey guys! I'm playing a show this Friday at La Bahia (the old mission appartment complex by the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, 215 Beach St.) It's an outdoor benefit show. Procedes go to benefit people incarcerated in our local prisons. Awesome! I'm working on throwing together some sort of band for the show. Should be a blast! So y'all should come if you're in the area. A $4-$8 donation will get you food and drinks. Lots of other bands will be playing as well.

I'm going on a camping trip ('trip' being the key word) to Arroyo Seco canyon with Tobias, Lindsay, and some of their friends this weekend. I just looked at some pictures of the area, and I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
